The British School Al Khubairat (BSAK) is looking to employ a Learning Assistant for UAE Native Subjects in Secondary to start as soon as possible. This is a full time, not a sponsored role and candidates need to be on a spousal visa.

BSAK is the British Embassy school in the UAE and is not for profit and non selective. It is over 50 years old and has an enviable reputation throughout the country and beyond, rated Outstanding across all performance standards in both our local Government Agency inspection (ADEK) and that of British Schools Overseas (BSO). In 2021 we were awarded Best School for Post-16 Education in the Schools Compared, Top School Awards for the second time in a row and Best School for Art and Creative Studio work. We are also the first school outside of the UK to receive the Carnegie Gold Award for Mental Health.

The role of the Learning Assistant for UAE Native Subjects is to support the learning process for our Native UAE Curriculum Department to help improve the quality of learning by helping students to engage with the curriculum. The successful candidate will provide support within the classroom/Year group relating to the UAE curriculum in particular by:

Contributing to the effective delivery of teaching and learning in the Arabic department to ensure excellent results

Differentiate resources and lessons to aid students’ learning

Setting tasks which are imaginative, interesting and motivating

Playing an active role in developing, sustaining and modelling the skills, attributes and behaviours of teaching and learning

Helping the Head of Department with any tasks contributing to teaching and learning

Candidates should have GCSEs, Secondary School Leavers certificate or equivalent and need to be fluent in both spoken and written Arabic and English. Please ensure you have reviewed the criteria before applying for this position.
