The British School Al Khubairat is looking to appoint a School Counsellor, to commence on 1st September, 2023.
BSAK is the British Embassy school in the UAE and is not for profit and is non selective. It is over 50 years old and has an enviable reputation throughout the country and beyond, rated Outstanding across all performance standards in both our local Government Agency inspection (ADEK) and that of British Schools Overseas (BSO). In 2021 we were awarded Best School for Post-16 Education in the Schools Compared, Top School Awards for the second time in a row and Best School for Art and Creative Studio work. We are also the first school outside of the UK to receive the Carnegie Gold Award for Mental Health.
The successful candidate will ideally be under a spouse/parent sponsorship, however sponsorship and living allowance could be arranged if required. Please note we operate on a non duplication of benefits policy. This is a key role within the School, offering students individual counselling and support and working within a diverse range of issues. The successful candidate will also provide consultation to staff whose role it is to support students in need. The successful candidate will hold either a Master’s Degree in School Counselling/related subject with 2 years relevant experience or a Bachelor’s Degree in School Counselling/related subject with 5 years relevant experience.
