The British School Al Khubairat is looking to employ a number of 1:1 Primary Inclusion Teachers to work with specific children in the primary school who require more specialised individual support. The roles will start in August 2026. Whilst this is not a permanent role, there is a requirement to commit to full time teaching for the school year. Payment would be made on a daily rate for days worked.

The candidates will have one or more of the following:

  • a UK qualified teacher with either a BEd or a BA/BSc plus PGCE;
  • will have substantial experience/qualification in Special Educational Needs, specifically Neurodivergence; Down Syndrome or SEMH specialist qualifications;
  • a UK trained Occupational Therapist or Behaviour Specialist Teacher.

We are seeking compassionate, skilled and child-centred professionals and the roles require building a secure, trusting relationship with the child while supporting their learning, emotional regulation and participation in daily school life.

The successful candidate will:

  • Build a warm, trusting relationship to support regulation and positive behaviour
  • Support the child’s communication, attention and self-regulation through age appropriate approaches
  • Implement consistent behaviour and regulation strategies, including support with transitions
  • Create structured, sensory-aware learning experiences that engage and motivate
  • Work closely with the family and the Inclusion Team to ensure consistent support
  • Use neurodiversity-affirming practice, recognising strengths and individual needs
  • Adapt routines and environments to support safe, inclusive participation
  • Adapt curriculum learning to meet the child’s needs through flexible teaching approaches, adapted resources and appropriate levels of support to promote confidence, independence and success.

Essential qualities:

  • Strong commitment to inclusive, child-centered practice
  • Understanding of child development, neurodiversity, ADHD and emotional regulation needs.
  • Calm, patient and reflective approach to challenging behaviour
  • Playful, flexible and collaborative working style

We offer:

  • A supportive Inclusion Team
  • Ongoing professional development
  • A nurturing, child-centered school environment

If you are passionate about supporting children to feel safe, confident and successful in their learning journey, we would love to hear from you. Interested applicants should complete the online application by the closing date of 18th May 2026.
