The British School Al Khubairat is looking to employ a number of 1:1 Primary Inclusion Teachers to work with specific children in the primary school who require more specialised individual support. The roles will start in August 2026. Whilst this is not a permanent role, there is a requirement to commit to full time teaching for the school year. Payment would be made on a daily rate for days worked.
The candidates will have one or more of the following:
- a UK qualified teacher with either a BEd or a BA/BSc plus PGCE;
- will have substantial experience/qualification in Special Educational Needs, specifically Neurodivergence; Down Syndrome or SEMH specialist qualifications;
- a UK trained Occupational Therapist or Behaviour Specialist Teacher.
We are seeking compassionate, skilled and child-centred professionals and the roles require building a secure, trusting relationship with the child while supporting their learning, emotional regulation and participation in daily school life.
The successful candidate will:
- Build a warm, trusting relationship to support regulation and positive behaviour
- Support the child’s communication, attention and self-regulation through age appropriate approaches
- Implement consistent behaviour and regulation strategies, including support with transitions
- Create structured, sensory-aware learning experiences that engage and motivate
- Work closely with the family and the Inclusion Team to ensure consistent support
- Use neurodiversity-affirming practice, recognising strengths and individual needs
- Adapt routines and environments to support safe, inclusive participation
- Adapt curriculum learning to meet the child’s needs through flexible teaching approaches, adapted resources and appropriate levels of support to promote confidence, independence and success.

- Understanding of child development, neurodiversity, ADHD and emotional regulation needs.
- Calm, patient and reflective approach to challenging behaviour
