Assistant Head Teacher Secondary (Head of Sixth Form)
The British School Al Khubairat (BSAK) is looking to employ an Assistant Head Teacher (Head of Sixth Form). This is a full time role and will commence 1st September 2022 but a later start in January 2023 would be considered for the right candidate.
BSAK is the British Embassy school in the UAE. BSAK is not for profit and is non selective. It is over 50 years old, and has an enviable reputation throughout the country and beyond. This is an exciting time to work with our Sixth Form. BSAK is currently undergoing a building extension project, which will mean a refurbished and increased amount of space for the Sixth Form. We expect the newly appointed Assistant Head Teacher to be involved in decisions about this restructure.
The role of the Assistant Head Teacher (Head of Sixth Form) is to lead the Heads of Year, Sixth Form Tutors and student body, with oversight of their pastoral and academic needs. He or she will work within a team of Assistant Headteachers to support the rest of the Secondary Senior Leadership Team to continue to develop our dynamic and leading international school. Whilst key responsibilities are listed in the Job Description, it is important to highlight that we are looking for an Assistant Head Teacher who has experience in leading on the development of student culture throughout the whole Secondary School - Years 7 -13.
Much is expected from this role, which is seen as the ideal preparation for Deputy Headship.
In order to meet the School’s requirements all candidates must be able to demonstrate they have held a position with management responsibility for a minimum of 4 years.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend the final on Thursday 26 May 2022. Once candidates have been shortlisted, a decision will be made as to whether the interview is in person or online.
